Has anyone noticed that in the Windows XP, PS2 version of Internet
Explorer there is no Windows Media? In the PS1 version you could go
to View/Explorer Bar and fine Media. That is missing in the PS2
version! That means you can't play streaming MP3, MPG etc. inside
Internet Explorer. You have to completely download whatever and play
it on another screen.

Is there a fix to that problem???

Don't think so. I just realized that the other day, and I
really don't like it because running WM9 behing IE, it
really slows down my web browsing until I shut down WM9.
I hope they might get a hotfix out or something for this.

I presume that for PS1 and PS 2 you mean SP1 and SP2. Go to www.microsoft.com
and download Windows Media Player for Windows, series 9. It's free. Frankly I
have had SP2 on two machines for two weeks and everything is as it was before
including Windows Media.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my request for help.
However, even after reinstalling Windows Media 9 the problem still
persists. Whenever I play something directly from my internet
newsgroup page Windows media opens another page instead of opening
a window inside the current page. Any other suggestions?

p.s. you were right I did mean SP2. Must be getting dyslexic in
my old age.
