After running various spyware programs on a friends pc, we came across a
number of issues on start up (files missing). Having disabled these from
starting, we no longer have this issue.
We did have an issue also where chkdsk deleted some files, which we thought
was ok. However, we can no longer connect to websites using IE6. He gets a
connection from the modem but all websites are down.
We tried a piece of software to repair IE6 but it asks for a SP2 disk, and
all we have is a recovery disk from Advent which doesn't have all the files
needed.
Any suggestions that I can do on his machine when I go there in a couple of
days?
