No Video

I am importing an mpeg file recorded on a sony dvd201 camcorder. this used
to be ok.

now when i import, i get audio, but only a black screen for video, when i
try to drag the import to the timeline, it only drops in the audio section,
and no video.

i have tried removing various codecs from the option, but this doesnt seem
to make a difference!

any ideas?

What have you done to your pc since it used to work? Perhaps use system
restore back to that point?
MM doesn't work well with mpeg files.
