No video, only audio, when I play timeline

I'm a complete novice with Windows Movie Maker. I was
working with a video originally in mpgeg. I edited all my
clips alright and added them to the timeline, but when I
preview the entire timeline, I get only audio, no video.
The same happens when I create a movie and try to play
it... just audio, no video. Any advice?

I had a similar problem. In my case it turned out to be the iviaudio.ax
filter registered by WinDVD 4. I ended up writing two small batch files to
register and un-register the filter as needed. You may have a similar
problem only with a video filter. Or, it could be a hardware acceleration
setting.
