No TV Tuner signal--

Hi everyone,

I'm running Vista home premium with a ATI Theater 550 pro tuner. The tv
cable run to my vcr then cables to the tuner. The problem is that I COULD
record manually before with no problem and then got the occassional "No tv
signal" error message then got the message All the time. THEN everything
would work again until the occassonal error then all the time error message.
Have downloaded ATI's current driver, checked all cables but the problem
persists?
Any ideas what causes this. Currently I get No signal message all the time.
Nothing new downloaded nor installed.

Are you watching TV thru WMC, have you tried resetting the reception?
Have you connected the ant./cable into a normal T to check reception?

Hi Bob, Yes I am using WMC and here is something I just found. I DO get a tv
signal when the VCR is set to channel three but NO tv signal when I set the
VCR to "line". Complicating things is that I also have a remote camera
attched to the VCR which I can watch on "live tv" but cannot record as it
says no tv signal in line mode. It DID record before.

So it seems the TV Signal is there but the VCR/Camera connection isn't.. I
can watch live tv and/or live camera but cannot record either as I previously
did..

Perhaps I should take up fishing and get out more on my little boat!!

The heading of your post is a bit misleading, as you say you can watch live
TV and your camera, but you cannot record, because when you select record, it
will not record because 'no line in' --
As you are most probably aware if the problem in within WMC, that program
cannot be reinstalled by it self, it would require a complete reinstall of
Vista.
Maybe you should use the restore feature and take it back to a restore point
prior to when the problem started.
Or it could a fault within the TVtuner card and a reinstall of the driver
may fix!!
Unfortunately the cause could be one of many!!!

If you decide to go fishing instead let me know and I will join you.
