No traffic coming in

Hi,

For several days now I've been having the following problem:

I may be happily browsing for an hour or more, when suddenly things
grind to a virtual halt, and any attempts to fetch a page time out.

My firewall (Comodo) lists all connections and corresponding traffic,
and I can see that nothing is able to come in. Same thing is shown in
the connection stats - the Sent byte count increases (repeated
attempts to fetch the page), but the Received count is essentially
frozen.

I've tried to fix the situation by reconnecting, restarting my browser
(Firefox), resetting my modem (Broadband USB gizmo), resetting my USB
hub, etc., etc., but the only way I can resolve the problem is by
rebooting, after which I can work normally for hours.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Check to see if you can "disable" all the Comodo firewall
"filtering" (aka not protection.)

This should tell you if the problem is "software" firewall based or
some type of hardware problem.

Thanks for that.

Actually, I stopped my FW while I was having the problem, and that
didn't change anything.

I've now been browsing for hours since my last reboot, and no
problems. It seems to occur at about the same time every day, and I'm
beginning to wonder if the problem is with my ISP. The only problem
with that approach is that it wouldn't explain why a reboot fixes it,
every time.
