No start of windows during installation of XP

Erik

Hi,
I am installing windows XP on a 350MHz machine with 64Mb
of memory. During the installation (after loeading files)
the machine is rebooting at the moment it wants for the
first time to start windows. This repeats continuously.

I tried several things, I formatted and fdisk the
harddisk already.

Thanks, Erik

You are probably sh*t out of luck. You would have been better off using
the money that you used to buy WinXP, and put that toward buying a
cheapy new computer. Live & Learn!

It is very doubtful that this computer can handle XP. 128MB of RAM is
the bare minimum, although I actually consider 256MB of RAM the minimum
to run the operating system well. From your brief description of your
computer, it is ideally suited to run Win98SE. Additionally, failure to
install MS operating systems is usually connected to bad hardware. Your
RAM may be too marginal for XP, or your hard drive may be dying. Please
post back if you want more help in troubleshooting your hardware, but I
strongly suggest you just let this old machine run Win98 instead.

Happy New Year,

Malke

Silly idea. Put XP on at least a 1 gig cpu with 512 of ram with at least
a 30 gig HDD.
