no start button on start-up

When rebooting computer with Windows XP i get no task bar
with the start-up, anyone else ever have this problem or
know how to fix it? Thanks.

is it hidden? i.e does it appear when you move your mouse to the bottom of
the screen.

try doing a disk check and restarting or
