Just installed windows xp, and I can't get any sound from
speakers (BOston acousting). Running fine on Windows
ME. Have checked all connections. It looks like I might
need drivers, no? Where can I get them?

Thanks

Find out what sound card you have and go to their website and search for XP
drivers.

Depends on the sound card, speakers, and computer
manufacturer.
See this KB article for BA735 digital speakers from
Gateway:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;302710&Product=winxp
(watch the wrap)
If this is an OEM sound card(Gateway uses Soundblaster),
then visit Gateway or your computer manufacturer site for
the latest drivers.
[The latest soundblaster drivers will NOT WORK with the
OEM version of the card and digital speakers.]
You can also search the KB for more info in losing sound
after upgrading to XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=FH;EN-
US;KBHOWTO
or Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp.htm
more info here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-
US;q307918

That should keep you busy for awhile.
Good luck,
John

If for some reason the sound card manufacturer does not
drivers for XP, you could try the drivers for Windows
2000. I had a similar situation with an old Yamaha sound
card. The Wondows 2000 drivers worked great.

Good Luck!
