No sound or audio

I was listening to my music in windows media player. All of a sudden I
couldn't get any sound. I check my volume and also it was not muted. I
restarted my computer and still no sound. I checked music softwares such as
winamp and radio netscape and still no sound. It says the device is working
properly. What could be wrong? i want my sound back.

Try a system restore to the day it worked or remove your sound card drivers
from the device manager and reboot and let it be redetected.
