Hi
I have a recently purchased Dell Latitude 820 which had XP SP2 Pro and
has now been upgraded to Vista Business. Since doing so, the laptop
speakers do not play any sound under Windows Media Player. I do get
some system sounds but that's it. I have applied the latest patches
from Dell, including the sound drivers, BIOS and the latest offerings
from Windows Update. This doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this?

Ok.. here is your fix... you need to install the application that came
with your PC... such as PowerDVD or RealPlayer blah blah... Don't know
if you noticed but you should also have a problem playing DVDs because
the codecs are not installed... This took many hours and lots of
coffee to figure out...
