No sound issue with XP and SoundMAX

Hello,

I have recently installed Windows XP on my brand new system (ASUS P4P8X SE).
In Device Manager, I successfully configured the SoundMAX integrated digital
audio device and it tells me NO CONFLICT ...

But I have no sound coming out of my speakers. I have uninstalled the
device, re-installed it, I even upgraded to XP SP 2 and no luck.

Has anyone heard of any issue like this one ?

Have you opened the Soundmax Control Panel to make sure everything is "on"
and volume turned up?

Did you install the stuff for it that came on the CD that
was packaged with your MB? I have a ASUS PC-DL with the
same hardware that works fine...
