no security tab in folders

I am using XP pro, but am unable to view the security tab setting

I have unchecked the 'Use simple sharing' option, but this makes no difference - is there somewhere else I need to set this up

Are you using NTFS? FAT32 disk format won't give you this option....
 
Ah, that'll be my problem - thank

Is there anyway to convert to NTFS without losing data?
