Have you installed any 3rd party image/photo software that may have altered
default thumbnail generation?

What version of Vista are you runnning? Home? Business? Ultimate?

If you enable the Preview Pane in Explorer, are images displayed there?

I'm having that same problem, I have Home Premium. And I tried checking that
box, it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Hi Keith,

I have the same problem which has been bugging for over a week now. I read
your replies here and tried to follow your instructions. 'Folder Options'
dialog -> 'View' tab -> under 'Adavanced settings:'

However, I could not find any options about - Clear the checkbox for 'Always
show icons, never thumbnails'

Where can I find this? This is really making me so mad. Vista is not that
user friendly really.

Hope you can help me with this.

Thanks,
Edsel

I also tried unchecking "Always show icons..." checkbox, with no effect.

How do I find out what version of VISTA I'm using? How do I enable the
Preview Pane in Explorer?

To find the Vista version:
Start - Control Panel - System

Preview pane:
in Windows Explorer,
Organize - Layout - Preview pane
