No power up on new build

Okay, here's the deal

I'm building a system for my parents using a refurbished motherboard
received from ABIT as replacement for a new one whose sound went ou
on me after four months
While removing the CPU before returning the old MB, it slipped from m
butter-fingery hands and landed on the hardwood floor. There are n
bent pins and no chipped corners, but I have no way of testing to se
if it survived the free fall
Now that I have put everything together, (dropped CPU, refurbished MB
the dang thing won't power up. I get power to the motherboard (th
digital display lights up) but I get no fans whirring and of course
no POST
Before I go and buy new parts, I'm wondering what the likelies
culprit might be, the CPU or the Motherboard.
I'll be resetting the CMOS next, but since the computer is at thei
house I wanted to try any other suggestions at the same time whil
I'm there

ABIT AV8 3rd Ey
AMD 3200 64-bit Venice Cor
FSP 400W PS

Gigabyte 9200 Video Car
Seagate 300GB SATA hard driv

I feel for you. Check that you have the 4 pin cpu connector attached to the
mb and that the PS is set for 115 v, and that the cpu fan is connected to a
header on the mb. Aside from that it could be the accidented cpu or the
refurbed mb just the same. Is the PS new? If so it could be bad as well.

Thanks, Jan, I'll check the CPU connector and fan and make sur
they're snug
The PSU is brand new and the MB is lighting up, so I'll rule that ou
for now, but I just hate the thought of buying a new CPU and the
having the problem be with the motherboard or vice versa

It shouldn't cost much to have a computer shop test the cpu for you.
