I have just re-installed Windows XP (Professional).

All my interenet dial-up connections disappeared during the process.

Now when I run the Internet Connection Wizard I put a check in the "Set up
my connection manually" but the next dialogue box has greyed-out the
"Connect using a dial-up modem" and only offers the "Connect using a
broadband connection that is always on".

What can I do?

Thanks

Ken

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: TCP/IP , and hit enter.
Then click on the topic: "Install Simple TCP/IP Services" or
"Configure TCP/IP settings".

Make sure you configure your modem through Phone and Modem Options first
(Control Panel>Printers and Other Hardware>Phone and Modem Options).

It sounds like your modem didn't get reinstalled. Go to Control Panel,
Phones and Modems, and hit the modem tab. If there's no modem listed,
then that is your problem. If you did a clean reinstall, you may need to
round up a driver for your modem.

It is configured properly here

The modem is reinstalled ok according to the XP report and there is no

I thought I would record the solution to my problem:

When you re-install Windows XP you MUST re-install the SP1 patch!

It solves all the problems!
