Win Xp
Office 2000

My son's PC....Initial problem.. unable to open MS-Word.

Trying several "tips" etc. in this N/G, but unable to find NORMAL.DOT
anywhere.!!!...so we can rename it etc.
Did the "Start/Run/Winword /a " and ok, but unable to start word any
other way still.

I am trying to communicate via telephone with him, so not easy to
assess properly at present.
He did the uninstall/re-install of Office to no avail.

Originally he opened a saved floppy file (MS-Excel), so that may be
the beginning of the problem...according to posts here.!!?

Running out of our limited ideas...help appreciated please.

Terry

Normal.dot is a hidden file. You need to set Windows Explorer to display
hidden files before you can locate it.
