hey folks....
need a bunch a help with this one

k....

xp was acting stupid as usual..
so I desided to do a repair install and start over somewhat fresh...

now during windows setup (you kno..the screen where it says installing
windows and 34 mins left...

well I get no responce from my mouse or keyboard... theres no pointer
either..

I've try to connect different keyboards and mouses to every
availableport.. including usb
and still nothing bout new keyboard and mouse still nothing..

searched all over the web including the great microsoft knowledge base
and still nothing..

this seems like a fairly simple problem but I can't find answers
anywhere and I've tried evrything I could possibly think of...
I don't want to do a fresh install.. because of theprograms need em
to do my work....

please any help would be greatly appreciated

no rememember they both work on the boot screen and during the first
step of windows setup... where u have to choose install a fresh copy or
repair... I jus get no response on the setup after it restarts

thanks in advance for all help

Did you try the advice in this article,

Setup stops responding with 34 minutes remaining

The only items that should be connected to your computer during
XP installation are the mouse, keyboard and monitor. Disconnect
everything else. Try to avoid any USB items. Use a PS/2 mouse
and keyboard if possible.

Before you decided to run the repair install, did you run any
tests on the memory and hard drive? Check the HD manufacturer's
web site for a testing program. You can use the following
program to test your memory.

Memtest86 standalone memory tester

I sure hope you have your important files backed up. If you
haven't, here are a few tools which may allow you to access and
back up your files.
