No Monitor Start!

I have 3 monitors with 2 attached to a tv/vga card n the other attached
to a pci card. Sometimes when i start my computer it will load the pci
like i have it set in bios and then go to the xp boot screen..So far so
good..but then when it flashes(not so much of a flash but like a
flicker) it will turn my prim. monitor off which is attached to the
tv/vga card..and when i restart it it sometimes works but sometimes i
gotta do it again and go to last known good config.
could ya tell me what the heck is going on?

basic..
1st monitor-attached to pci 3D Rage II -vga
2nd monitor-attached to geforce fx5500 agp-tv
3rd monitor-attached to geforce fx5500 agp-vga

As you have found it can be problomatic attempting to use multiple vid
cards, what works for one may not work for another on seemingly same hw.
There is no simple solution.
Possibly the only sure way is to use a vid card that supports multiple
monitors, matrox for one. Unfortunately the more monitors required results
in an increasing vid.card cost.

Suprised you got that old card to work at ALL with multiples. Get a
video card manufactured after 2000, and you'll have better luck (Hint,
This is when windows 2000 shipped). The only earlier card I've ever
gotten to play nice with multiples are the Matrox MGA/Mistique.

Didn't I already tell you back in early June, that the Rage 2 Card was
at fault? Why haven't you swapped it out for something newer? Or at
least swapped it for something that told you DOES work. I know this
card works because I set up a monitor burn in rack, for testing old
monitors with 4 of these cards. Plus an agp dual head card for a total
of 6 monitors. I also know the Rage 2c card doesn't work for this,
because I tried IT first.

You can pick up an old Matrox card on ebay, or even locally if you're
on a bugdet. Cheap.

They DO work. Drivers no problem, they come with Windows 2000.

Just realised you posted this Q earlier.
Didnt like the responses?
As was said then there is a 99% probability of this set up not working, buy
a card/hw designed to cope with the multi setup you desire.
