hello
running xp sp2.
As in the title I can no longer use my network connection.
I uninstalled bonjour and removed the registry settings for it.
Now I can not get any network connection.
From a cmd window on a ping I get this error
Unable to initialize windows socet interface error code 0

In the events I have these errors
My diskkeeper all of a sudden stopped working too
this error
Diskeeper control center ERROR diskeeper was not able to initialize RPC
(However RPC is running in services)

The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated with service
specific error 3221356592 (0xC0020030)

I now have a lot of errors in application events from SENS
the description for Event ID (0) in source (SENS) cannot be found
the local computer may not have the necessary registry information or
message dll file to displya essage fro a remote computer. you may be able to
use the /auxsoruce=flage to retreive this description. no service is
operation at the destination network endpoint on the remote system
servicestart(), sensinitialize()failed

Openoffice gives me the error that the winsock library could not be
initialized.

I have check for winsock.dll its there.
I remove the network hardware and reinstalled.
I unfort do not have system restore running so can't use that. (yep came
back and bit me in the arse).

Any help is greatly greatly appreciated as this is my main computer that is
down.
I have searched google and microsoft but can't find the magic bullet.

Thanks
mark

You may want to run system restore. This search result may help.
Diagnose and Repair Computer Errors
If none of the above steps resolve the error, then on a Windows XP and
Windows Vista computer, you may use a System Restore utility to restore your
system ...
