no keyboard in xp.

During a normal reboot to clear Ram, XP came to the
password entry and the keyboard was not being
recognized. As I went through the differant testings,
including trying a system restore, I attempted a
reinstall over the top of the original. Now the furthest
I can get is the place to enter the installation code and
the keyboard still is not recognised. I know it is not
the keyboard as have installed a new master drive and it
works fine on it. Does anyone know of a way by this
block, I don't want to loose the data from the old drive.
Thanks to you all for reading this. LeRoy

Hi,

Just do a little checking. Check if the keyboard is working. During the bootup the computer will check the hardware and report if the keyboard is not functioning by halting and u have to press F1. do u get that.

or in some case the keyboard particular keys that is used in ur password may not be functioning.

Check with a different keyboard.
