No Internet access

This is a first for me. Linking two PCs together. I can now share files
beautifully between the two but sharing the Internet connection seems out of
the question.

Both PCs report the following error message:
On Task bar "Local Area connection Speed 100MBPS. Status:Limited or no
connectivity. The problem occurred because the network did not assign a
network address to the computer".

I used Windows XP Network setup wizard to configure both PCs.

I'm missing something obviously and would love some help.

How do you connect to the internet? The IP address will either be allocated
by activating ICS (internet connection sharing) if one PC has the connection
and the other one is connected to it or by a DHCP server from the router if
you are using one.

I connect to the internet from the Master PC via a Satellite Modem. The Slave PC connects to the Master via Ethernet cable (crossover)

Brute force and ignorance prevails!
I now have working local area network.
I disabled all networking functions and started the Wizard again but this
time I didn't terminate the Wizard on the master until I ran the Wizard on
the Slave.
Crazy...

Again thanks guys.
