Hi!
I have a server that i cannot log into. I get a message to the effect of
saying that an interactive login in not allowed by local policy. I have not
even established such a policy. I am unsure what to do here. Is this a
message that means anything to anybody?

There are two possibilities. If the server is a windows domain controller,
only an administrator or a user that has been explicitly granted the rights
to logon interactively can do so. If it is not a domain controller, then
some policy is preventing the account you are using from an interactive
logon. Since it's a "local policy" issue, that suggests that it's in a local
GPO on the computer. where did this computer come from? What's it's history.
Could you logo on using the same account in the past? The error message is
pretty much self-explanatory, but also not worth much all by itself. Some
more info migh be useful. Back in my MCSE lab days, our group enabled the
"allow interactive logon" policy, and didn't add anyone to the list. The net
result was that noone could ever logon interactively again. The solution was
to re-install Windows.

Thanks!
I will give this a try. I was hoping that I would not have to do what Kurt
suggested!
