No icons on the Taskbar

Hi there,

I'm using WindowsXP SP1, all hotfixes are upto date.
A few days ago Explorer.exe unexpectedly shutdown, as a
result no program Icons appear on it when the programs are
open, I can only access them by ALT+TAB, another thing is
that the Taskbar becomes a small grey line at the bottom
of the screen if I remove the Language Bar from the
Taskbar, and this line cannot be moved...

I have run sfc and all upto date AntiViruses and have come
up with blanks, there is nothing regarding in the
Knowledge-base, any assistance would be gladly appreciated.
