No icons on desktop

My Icons have disappeared from my desktop...Eveything
works OK from START/PROGRAMS menus. Any suggestions would
be appreciated...Ed
 
Try this:

Right click on the Desktop, select Active Desktop and enable Show Desktop Icons.
