I HAVE RECENTLY LOST THE OPTION TO PUT THE PC INTO
STANDBY OR HIBERNATION, WHY ! , WELL THAT 'S MY QUESTION.

HOW DO I GET THEM BACK?

Please don't post in all CAPS. Hard to read and seems as if you're
shouting.

You need to remove or roll back what ever drivers or programs that you
recently installed that killed the standby and hibernate feature.
This is usually caused by installing new drivers that are not MS
signed.

Check your power settings to make sure you have standby and hibernation
enabled. I think there is an icon in the control panel. Also, right
click on the screen, then on properties, then on Screen Saver Tab and
there may be a button which gets you into the power options. Some of
these options my be computer and or OS specific. On my computer I can
disable hibernation but not standby.
