No General Tab on Internet Options

David S.

When I click Tools and then Internet Options, The file
opens with Tabs on top read Security, Privacy, Content,
Connections, Advanced. There is no General Tab, so I
cannot change my Home Page or delete cookies and temp
files. I have Windows 98 and I upgraded to Explorer 6.0 at
Microsofts web site, so I don't understand why it is a
custom version of explorer. How I fix this?

David,
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites and Toolbars

Includes: Restore the missing Tabs in IE (usually parasite related)
Note: restoring the missing tab(s) without scanning for parasites
will not remove the culprit that now exists on your system.

I am actually answering my own question posted Dec 12th
to no avail. I finally, after checking for a reply every
day for 6 days, searched back to Oct. for a response. I
see that this is a real common problem so I hope this
helps a lot of people. I'm no computer expert so I can
only tell you it worked for me. I have windows 98 I.E.6,
GO TO [ http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm ]. I had
no idea who hijacked my system Cool Search ? who ever but
it worked!! I have all 7 Tabs back under Internet Options
Good Luck
