no floppy 'a' drive in my computer

Hi can anyone help. I have just had to reboot my computer
and I cannot save anything to disk. There is no
floppy 'a' drive visible in my computer and nothing on
the drop down menu in word. I do not have any technical
knowledge and am unsure how to get this back. My device
manager says the driver is working properly, can anyone
give man an 'idiots' guide to rectifying this problem?

There are two KB articles on this both involving unfortunately regedits - do you
have someone to assist you who has more experience? The only other thing I can
suggest is a system restore prior to the A drive being missing.
