No file or print sharing via the registry

Hi All,

I want to turn off File and Print sharing via the
registry. I am finding this article:

http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/818/disable-file-and-print-sharing-in-network/
Disable File and Print Sharing for network security

1. click Start -> Run -> Regedit
2. click
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Network
3. Add a new DWord Value
4. Rename it to (NoPrintSharing or NoFileSharing)
5. Assign it a value of 1

This is easy for me to do, but something seems off. Seems to
me that was a Windows 98 thing. Is this the correct key(s)?

Many thanks,
-T

Simplest and most secure approach is to disable and stop the Server service
in services.msc

This does have the drawback that you cannot browse the LAN. Not important if
you connect by a logon script or predetermined mappings, though,
