i have a pc connected to a netwok , when you go to my
computer it does not show any drive letters, none for the
floppy the cd roms , the hdds , nor any mapped
drives .The system is running win xp pro. If you go to
Nortons Anti-virus it has the drive letters.I tried to
rename them using right click , but they still don't show
up . when you look in properties you can see the drive
letter .

Open My Computer. Go to View > Choose Details... Make sure "Name" is checked.
It would be strange if it's not. Highlight "Name" and select Show if it's not
checked for some reason.

Otherwise, right click on My Computer and select Manage > Disk Management.
Check to see if drive letters show there in partition areas. That's the place
for assigning and changing drive letters, not by right clicking on the drives
shown when you open My Computer.
