Oh God It's Him Again

A friend is having a niggling problem - using XP Home. When he installs
software, whether from a download or from a CD, then restarts, he keeps
getting an error message along the lines of "There is no disk in the drive.
Insert a disk in the drive **** Device\harddisk\DR18

where **** is the name of a file associated with the software just
installed. Sometimes it ends with DR12 instead of DR18.

If he clicks on cancel, or continue, everything seems to work OK, but the
messages are obviously annoying for him.

Could anyone please advise on where to start looking.

Thanks
