No digital output from the soundcard...

I upgraded a Gateway Preformance 800 from Windows ME to
Windows XP PRO. Everything works fine except the digital
output to the Boston Acoustics BA735 digital speakers.
The soundcard that came with the computer system is a
Sound Blaster Live Value. From contacting Sound Blaster
Tech Support I found out that the SB Live Value card is
strictly Analog. Gateway has a driver to emulate the
digital output. I have contacted Gateway and tried their
digital sound driver but I have had no luck. The
soundcard works great with analog speaker but their is no
sound output when switched to digital output only on the
soundcard and using digital speakers. The computer
worked fine with Windows ME. Gateway emailed me today
and stated they only support the Gateway version of
Windows XP and not Microsoft. Do you have any ideas?
