No dialup sound.

When I dial up to my ISP, I can't hear any tone in my
speakers. It always had dial tone, but not lately. I can
get through no worries and all works OK - it's just no
sound. (my speakers do work). Is there a fix for this
somewhere. Many thanks.

It's a modem setting. Control Panel, Modem.
