No desktop on windows 2000 server / explorer.exe

After restart and logon to windows2000-server, no desktop
appears. Services are running, but I have no access to
explorer.exe. There is no chance to use a "new task".
task-manager is running, but no session
of "explorer.exe". "new task" cannot be started.

I´ve already renamed the shdocvw.dll and copied the
explorer.exe from another server - but no changes.

Hello Stefan,

Even i am facing the same problem...can u please tell me
weather u was able to fix the prob at your end i will be
really greatfull if you could send me the solution of it
with out reinstalling the OS
