I just reinstalled my Windows XP Home Edition. I've checked all the sound
drivers and they are working properly. I'have checked the volume control.

When I go to the Control panel and click on Sound devices, I am informed
that there is no default available.

My headphones worked prior to the reinstallation.

Now, I can't even get Windows, system sounds, just silence.

Help please so I can use my web cam, media player, etc.

Did you install the driver for the sound device/card after installing XP?
