This is maddening!!

I am connected to the internet via cable modem and I get
this constantly when I open the Explorer;

"No Connection to the Internet is currently available. To
view Internet content that has been saved on your
computer, Click Work Offline."

Okay an annoyance for sure, as soon as I say try Again
the browser opens, anyone please help, this is where you
might decide to shoot the computer, not the messenger,
lol.

TIA

What have you done to troubleshoot? Did it ever work? If so, what
changed? From the software side, try the normal malware search/removal
steps:

Scan with a current antivirus program (meaning a version not earlier
than 2003 using updated virus definitions). Also, remove spyware with
Spybot Search & Destroy from www.safer-networking.org and Ad-aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs before running
them. These programs are free, so run them both since they complement
each other. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal tools in
Safe Mode. You may also want to run CWShredder and HijackThis from
http://aumha.org/freeware.htm. Although CWShredder is no longer being
updated, it will still clean older variants of the CoolWebSearch
malware. A combination of HijackThis and About:Buster
(http://www.majorgeeks.com) works well in removing homepage hijackers.
Please read the instructions carefully. Make sure you are able to see
all hidden files and extensions (View tab in Folder Options). Also,
make sure you've visited Windows Update and applied all security
patches. Do not install driver updates from Windows Update. Make sure
you are running a firewall.

From the hardware side, check that the ethernet cable running from the
computer to the cable modem is snug. Reseat it on both ends.
Power-cycle the modem by:

1. Turn off your computer.
2. Turn off your cable modem (or unplug it if there is no power switch).
3. Wait about 30 seconds and power on the cable modem.
4. Turn on your computer. Do you now have an Internet connection?

If you have done all of the above, are sure that your computer is 100%
spyware and virus-free, and you still have problems, call your cable
company to see if they are having problems on their end.
