No connection between VS and CE .NET device

I am trying to run a .NET application on a CerfPod board from Intrinsyc
through Ethernet. I configured the IP of the board in Visual Studio's device
settings and I verified I can ping it from my desktop computer. But when I
try to run my application I get deployment errors, such as "Cannot establish
a connection. Be sure the device is physically connected to the development
computer."

Any idea what's happening?
