Hello. Last weekend I've downloaded and installed the latest driver/
software for the x1600 and after the install and reboot it came up in
black-and-white. Colours are gone. I thought my screen was broken, but
no way. I've tested that and before Vista boots I van see colours so
no problem there. I've openen ATI catalyst and so and seacrhed and
searched and searched, but can't find the problem. The graphical
quality is ok, but no colour. I've tried a 'driver roll-back' but a
NO-
GO. Can you please help me ? It's a ASUS laptop with a legal Vista
Business version. Just for your information. Kind regards and many
thanks in advance. Regards, Robert from Amsterdam (The Netherlands)

Check the AVIVO color part of the Catalyst Control Center.

I'm willing to bet the saturation is turned all the way down.

Slide that bar around and color should come back :)

Hello Shane,

Thanks for you quick answer. The stupid thing is that Catalyst Control
Center won't start anymore.
No error, no screens, nothing. I've unstalled it en re-installed it,
but it just won't start.
My guess that I can only change the saturation using this program.
Although I'm 99.9% positive that I didn't change anything with
saturation.
To be honest (sounds stupid), I don't know were to change it in
Catalyst CC
If you have any other tips, please tell me. Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day.

Regards,
Robert

Hello. The probem has been fixed. It was quiet simple.
To be honest, it was the first thing what popped in my mind but
i thought it was to simple to work. I've uninstalled the card
completely
and my colour was back, right away. With a standard, generic adaptor.
Then I've installed the Vista driver and NOT THE ATI drivers and it
works smooth again. Thanks for all the help. Regards, Robert
