When typing if I use shift p I get nothing, no capital p, no space, no
lowercase p. IF I USE CAPS LOCK I GET A CAPITAL P.

At first I thought it was my keyboard but when I plugged in a new one same
thing. Any ideas?

Does this also happen if with both shift keys?

Yes I just tried with the Left Shift Key as well as the Right and no upper
case p with either shift key. Another thing, I've tried two different
keyboards which I mentioned but what I didn't mention is that the original
was PS2 (normal round type, I think you call that PS2) the current one is
USB.

To me this is totally weird.

Thanks

I'd try removing the keyboard drivers and rebooting and allowing the OS to
re-install them...

Start
Run
Type "control keyboard" without the quotes
Hit enter
Second tab over - hardware
Highlight it and select properties
Click on the Driver tab
Click on the uninstall button
Say yes at the prompt
Reboot

If you can, try changing the keyboard with another one. This would
eliminate the keyboard as the main problem. If it does not happen with the
newer keyboard, the keyboard is having a "hardware" problem.

Galen,

When I read your reply it felt "right" but no. Thanks though.

As many times as I've told people to uninstall and re their drivers over the
years it would have been perfect if that had been it. :)

From my first post.

Thanks though
