No boot after Defragmentation

I'm running Windows xp Home edition and my system won't
start up after I defragmented the hard drive. Any
suggestions?

It seems to me I had this same problem recently. What is
happening is that your computer is trying to boot from
DOS and can't. Turn on your system, and after you get
the invalid boot or directory message (whichever one it
is, I can't remember), type C:\Windows and hit enter.
This will redirect your computer to windows and it should
work fine. I'm pretty sure this is how I fixed my
problem. At any rate, it won't mess up anything for you
to try it.
