No Beeps, Power Light Stays on???

Okay, put this thing together finally. An AMD Athlon 950 with a NEW power
supply since the old one was making nice burning smells. So for the whole
night while I was in the kitchen installing stuff it worked perfect (about 2
hours). Then I move it to a different room and hook it up and now it won't
work. Two problems: 1) No go, no beeps (MSI Athlon motherboard) and 2)
When I hold down the power button to turn it off it shuts off but the power
button is still glowing green for some reason...

Anyway when I turn it on power comes on, CPU fan spins...then it all sits
there doing nothing....monitor sits blank and has an orange light not a
green one. Tried different monitor, same. Tried different video card,
same. Isn't the PSU since it's new (no smells either). I checked all the
connections they're fine. Could the power button thing have something to do
with it? I know that isn't right...

Thanks,

Smith

Sounds like a BIOS problem. I recently had one (due to hackers and what
not) and found out you can set it back to its defaults by removing the watch
battery for approx. 2 minutes. Do that and try to get into BIOS and make
the appropriate setting changes.
Also, you may need a flash update for the newer hardware.

I'll try resetting the battery, but I don't think that's it. For the 2
hours it was working I was in Windows working on it, restarting, shutting
down, viewing the internet, moving personal files, etc. I even went into
BIOS when I first set it up to make sure everything was being seen okay.
I'll let you know how it goes though...I hope it is that easy.

The other obvious thing to check is to ensure that all the memory, the
CPU and the video card (if above board) are all securely seated.
Failure in any of the above items will cause a computer to fail to
POST. Since you indicate that you have moved the computer from one
place to another, it's possible that one or more of the above items
have worked loose. It's happened to me before. Pull all the memory,
reseat it. Yank the CPU, reinstall it. Remove and reinsert the video
card. Then power up and see what happens.

I had this exact problem. Try this:- Power up, unplug the kettle lead
from the back and quickly power up again. If that works then you had
the same problem I had. basically the PSU was faulty (Well it was in mine).

Take all the IO Cards out and see if it will boot up after you reseat the
RAM, Video Card and all the cables.
