I have a new Dell computer that has windows xp home
edition installed on it from Dell. I would like to do a
backup but there seems to be no way to do one. I have
searched all of the programs intalled on the computer but
there is no backup wizard anywhere. I have talked to 3
people at the Dell support but they are clueless. They
gave me the runaround for many hours and then told me it
was a microsoft issue not there problem. I have the
windows xp home edition reinstallation cd. Is there a way
to retrieve the backup wizard off of this cd? And how do
I go about it step by step? If not, let me know if there
is some way to do a backup without the wizard? Please
help!

1. burn to cd or dvd.

2. ghost the drive using norton ghost or drive image (or
similar apps).

3. get a secondary hard drive (internal or external) and do
physical backups.

My pleasure. The Microsoft web site is a great place to find information on
Windows XP. They've even got webcasts.
