No Background Color

I've lost the background colors on Web sites. I use XP
Home edition. Please advise.
 
Not sure if applicable, try it.

Background Colors or Images Are Not Visible on Web Pages in Internet
Explorer
When you attempt to view a Web page that has a background color or
background image, the background is not displayed and a white background is
displayed instead.
