I have just upgraded one of the PCs on our office LAN from
W98 to XP. Our server runs NT 4.0, all other PCs are
still W98. Under W98, the computer was set to logon to
the network upon bootup (it remembered user name and
domain, user just had to enter his password). There are
numerous network shares mapped as drives. When setting up
these drives (under W98), we had the option "Reconnect at
Logon". That way, once the user was logged on, all
resources were available to him.
Now, under XP, the user is not prompted to logon at all on
bootup. Every time he goes to access a mapped network
drive, he gets an error message and is then prompted to
supply his user name, domain, and password. Thus, he has
to logon separately for each drive. How do I set him up
so that he just logs on once (for all resources) at bootup?
Any help appreciated.
