I was looking thru one of the log files and noticed that when my PC was
setting up security settings, it generated messages in the log that says
that Autoexec.bat, Config.sys, and ntbootdd.sys files could not be found. I
searched the harddrive for these files and it still says that they are not
there.
I am running Windows XP Home on a clean install. Is this a problem, or
doesn't XP need these files. Also, I have 2 catalog files with the 2nd one
showing that there were various errors on the drive. Everything seems to be
working OK as far as I can tell, but I was wondering if having these 2 files
was normal. I seem to remember someone posting a message on how to get rid
of the 2nd catalog file, but I do not remember how it said to do it. If I
just delete, Windows puts it back.
Any info would be appreciated!
