no audio on Powerpoint viewer 2003

I created a slideshow of photos and music (mp3) in Powerpoint 2003. Used
Package for CD to create copies. Slide show will play both video and audio
perfectly on a computer with full version of Powerpoint 2003 but there is no
audio when playing same CD using just Powerpoint Viewer 2003. Can this be
resolved?
Thanks in advance.

It's not because of the Viewer. The Viewer plays MP3s just fine. But, did you
include the Viewer on the CD, when using Package for CD?

Are we talking about two tests done on the same computer? If not, it's possible
that there is something wrong with the computer that won't play the music in the
PowerPoint Viewer. On that system, what version of Windows is installed? Can
you do a test by going to Start > Run and typing mplay32.exe and then opening
one of the MP3s and click on the Play icon? Does the MP3 play?

I tested on more than one computer but I just tested the CD with the
mplay32.exe and was able to play the mp3. I did pack the viewer on the CD -
I allowed the program to pack everything automatically. All the audio files
seem to be listed. The computer I just tested runs XP. Thanks

Are you allowing the CD to autorun?

Apparently, the file was so large I wasn't giving it enough time to fully
load. Altho' the first slide came up with the speaker showing, when I
clicked there was no audio. A little patience after successfully testing
with mplayer.exe and sure enough, it works like a dream! Thanks for
confirming that Viewer 2003 does support mp3.
