No Audio in MSN Messenger 6.1

Like many other readers of this forum I have had problems
trying to use Audio in MSN Messenger 6.1, however, after
making a number of changes over the weeks I managed a two-
way audio conversation with someone in USA. I have
written a fairly lengthy contribution to a similar forum
on the Dell website in which I describe the changes I
have made this information may be useful to other
users. Rather than rewriting the article I give below

The title of the topic is "MSN Messenger problem even

I have just discovered that Microsoft have issued an
updated version of MSN Messenger 6.1 (Version
6.1.0207). This version of MSN Messenger contains the
version of RTCDLL.DLL (5.1.2600) that I installed from
elsewhere and which seems to have solved the problem. I
have not yet had the opportunity to try it.
