NLS Files

I was looking in my System32 files today for a screensaver and noticed all
these files created in August with a variety of names... like C_10082...so on
and so forth, all with the file extension of NLS.

What are these, why are they all created in August and can I safely delete
them? There are 62 of the files created in august.

Sorry, this didn't help me much. I tried that too before I posted and just
like your link, it appeared to be software for sale that lets you back up
files that can easily be done without purchasing a program to do it for you.

*.nls files are language files. All of these files are the languages that
XP supports. I.e. Regional and Language Options in the Control Panel.

List of languages supported in Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;292246

Leave 'em alone. I have 63 *.nls files in %windir%\System32 like wise in
%windir%\System32\dllcache.

Or else you may suffer something like this.

Error: "C_1252.nls File Missing or Corrupt" During Startup
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;830088

c_1252 is the code table for Western European (Windows)

1252 (ANSI - Latin I)
