It is in a hidden/system folder under:

\documents and settings\<user id>\application data\microsoft\outlook

NEO,

I have done a search on my computer (including hidden files and folders) for
an NK2 file and cannot find it. I am using Outlook Express.

Do you have any ideas about how to find it?

Thanks for the response. I am switching from Outlook Express to Outlook. Do
you know a way to "capture" and transfer the autopopulate files from Outlook
Express to Outlook on my new computer?

The mechanism that Outlook Express and Outlook use to provide autocompletion
are completely different. I don't believe Outlook Express stores that data
in a file, but completes using the Windows Address Book service.directly
from the OE contacts.

After properly configuring Outlook, you can import your contacts from
Outlook Express with FIle>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and
Addresses>Next>Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x. Uncheck "Import Mail: and
"Import Rues". Click Next, then Finish.

Now that Outlook knows about your Contacts, click Tools>Options>E-mail
Options>Advanced E-mail Options and check the box labeled "Suggest names
when completing To, Cc, and <Bcc fields". Click OK, OK, OK. Now open the
Contacts folder, select all your contacts with CTRL-A, then click
Actions>New Message to Contacts. When the new message window opens, click
Check Names in the toolbar or press CTRL-K. This will resolve all the
addresses and add them to the autocompletion cache. Close the new message
window without sending or saving the changes. The next time you create a
new message and start typing in one of the recipient fields, Outlook should
suggest the names you stored in the previous step.
