Mandriva deal.

In any other industry it would be called dumping.

Think real hard for a while before answering...lol!

dennis@home said:Yes it is.
Its the support that they have to pay through the nose for.
That's why windows can be cheaper than Linux as windows has a massive
support organization in place and it adds little to the costs to
support a few extra users. Its Linux that is being dumped if its
cheaper than windows.
dennis@home said:So an OS that is free must be the ultimate in dumping then.
Dumping is where you sell below cost price.
The cost price of an OS license is close to zero so unless M$ give it
away they are not dumping.

No in business it is dumping. Linux in itself is not a business. There are
businesses built around Linux and they do charge what they have to. They
don't cut their price to undercut MS.
So then it MS's cost is close to zero why do we have to pay so much for
it?
So MS is either dumping or gouging.

So what's it called when you sell a "free" product ?
Gouging ?
Scamming?
Linux wants to play big business, but doesn't like the game ?
Boohoo
